Concept

This project explores a recurring pattern: the introduction of anything new in our lives disrupts our sense of certainty and the understanding of ourselves, ultimately forcing a redefinition of what it means to you.

Music: “Pat and Janet” by Justin Hurwitz, from First Man (2018).

This feels like the time
to reach and start again.

Your shadows accepted.
Your fears are buried.

You can rebook the flight.

continue the trip,
chase your dreams,
untangle time,
uncover the sky.

but the cold burns.
fear bites back.
the sun sets.
breeze keeps quiet.
and time?
it’s a mess again.

Still, it’s yours,
and yours the will.
the will to want,
the will to love.
and wine exists,
as well as love.
and there are no wounds
time can’t heal.

Text adapted from No te rindas by Mario Benedetti.

Process

Themes: 1 Something New Emerges, 2 Breaks Certainty, 3 Redefines Yourself. Moodboard in three columns: “New” Emerges (wonder, possibility, knowledge), Breaks Certainty (claustrophobic, tension, overstimulation), and Redefines (reconnection, growth, organic). Color palette: #5b4ca8, #0f0c34, #cfb060. Early explorations: twenty hand-drawn sketch frames, one for each line of the script.
